Protection Advisers

Mortgage Protection
The Mortgage Protection Process
At Boulter Protect, we aim to offer a simple, supportive process to getting the right protection in place for you and your family.
There is no cost to you for this service - it’s something we offer to make sure you and your family are protected, and to meet our compliance duties.
Your Review Meeting
We’ll arrange a meeting to look at any cover you need or review what you already have to make sure it still meets your needs. It’s a relaxed conversation designed to ensure that you understand the options available to you and your family. Our aim is to help you feel confident that your mortgage and family are protected.
Understanding Your Protection Needs
In our meeting, we’ll:
-
Review the cover you already have
-
Discuss what financial support your family would need if you passed away, were diagnosed with a critical illness, couldn’t work due to illness, or any other protection that may be relevant for you
-
Consider your budget, as we want to ensure that any cover you take out is sustainable for you
-
Explain how placing your life insurance into trust can help make sure any payout goes to the right people quickly and smoothly
-
Talk through any other questions you may have
Your Protection Options
Once we understand your needs, we’ll provide you with a range of suitable protection options.
You’re more than welcome to arrange a follow-up call or meeting to discuss these options in more detail - we want you to feel fully informed and comfortable with your decision.
Making Your Application Easy
After you’ve chosen the right cover, Boulter Protect will submit your application on your behalf to save you time and paperwork, including setting up your trust.
You’ll then receive a short health questionnaire directly from the insurance provider to complete.
Underwriting and Next Steps
Once your questionnaire is returned, your application can move forward.
Sometimes, the insurance provider may request a few simple medical tests or a copy of your medical records from your GP.
If there are any changes to your premium, or exclusions, we’ll explain these clearly and check you’re happy before anything is finalised.
Your Policy Goes Live
Once everything is agreed, your application will be finalised and your cover will start.
You’ll receive all your policy documents directly from the insurance provider, and your chosen trustees will also receive copies so they know what to do if a claim ever needs to be made.
